Setamatsu Hiromasa
 
was born in 1925 and grew up in Hokkaido. Since his childhood he has been practicing Kendo and Karate. In WW II he served as a pilot of the Japanese Air Force. He met Hironori Ohtsuka, the founder of Wado-Ryu, in 1948. Deeply impressed by master Ohtsuka´s techniques he became his disciple. After furthering the establishment of Wado-Ryu in Hokkaido, he came to Tokyo in 1958 where he taught Karate at many universities and dojos. Ever since, the number of his students has increased steadily due to his technical skill and personal integrity.
Now he has retired and made it his task to teach Karate wherever he is needed.
